We'll work closely together to create exactly the look and feel you want and I will lead you through the process, making it as simple and easy as possible. After all, you do have a whole wedding to plan!
Consultation (4-8 months before wedding)
The consult may be in person or over the phone but I highly recommend a face-to-face meeting if you live locally (within 50 miles of the Boston area). We'll talk about your likes and dislikes and everything from papers to colors, fonts to graphics, number of inserts and more. If you need color swatches, I can provide you with samples. Feel free to bring samples of things to use for inspiration as well as color swatches from bridesmaid dresses. After the consult, I will develop a quote based upon our discussions for your approval. Upon acceptance, I will send a contract which will detail due dates for each of us. I will require a 30% deposit for the order.
Design Process
I will start designing about 4-6 months before your wedding. By this time,
all of your wording for the invitation and inserts should be finalized (I
will help with suggestions and forms to make it simple). I'll take everything
we discussed from the consultation into consideration and create 2-3 designs
of the invitation for your review. I may ask you to choose from a list of
fonts and review some graphic choices. After you provide initial feedback
on which design you prefer, I will design the inserts and envelopes.
Proofs
During the design process, I'll send you proofs in PDF format. You should
review them with anyone that will be involved in the decision-making process.
We can make any changes you want and may go back and forth a few times until
we get the design perfect. Proofing is your responsibility and once you
approve the final proof in writing, the outstanding balance will be due.
Production
The production process takes 4 weeks from when you sign the final proof
and I receive payment. I'll order all the paper and envelopes, then print
and assemble your invitation packages. You can pick up the finished product
at my home studio or I can ship it to you.
It is customary to mail wedding invitations 6-8 weeks before the wedding
date. You may want to mail as early as 10-12 weeks ahead for a destination
wedding. Rush orders can possibly be accommodated, so please inquire about
my availability.
